I had taken a Thanksgiving trip and had to make this quilt when I returned but it turned out very nice and was one of the easiest ones I have made recently. Memorial Quilt For His Widow

This sweet quilt was a rather hard one to make. The young widow gave me some of his favorite clothes to have me make her a "Special Keepsake Quilt" for her and her children to hold close to their heart in loving memory of HIM!! She cried in my arms when I delivered it to her. and said she would probably tuck it away for a while. It is difficult to know that this is what you have left from someone you loved so much. God bless her and her three small children.

Her mother had them both made and another one is in the plans for her college days. Look close and you will see how I used some clothes from her past in some special blocks. One Big Cat One Little Bathroom

Big Boys & Their Toys

This is my baby son the youngest of my three boys. He loves toys as you can see. Now he is a great family man and a dedicated Coast Guardsman and he just love those helicopters (big and small) !! He spends his time repairing and hoisting in the Coast Guard and in his spare time, which isn't much, he flies the little helicopters. He just can't get enough of them. I took this picture of him with his latest one in front of my house. This one was a bargain from a friend in Alaska. Of course he couln't pass up a bargain. LOL Cute!

Well this is such a lovely quilt top and it is begging to be quilted on your long arm machine. I made this top in 2003 for my husband. Well he went on to be with God before I could get someone to quilt it. I am letting it go now as I don't need it for my bed anymore. The workmanship is excellent if I say so myself. I just finished this wonderful T-shirt quilt for one of my customers. The blocks include him and his children. His wife had this made for his birthday which is this next week so I will be shipping it today. The little dress is from his daughter along with a Yankee baseball shirt and some really nice other shirts. I actually had a hard time cutting these up as they were so nice and the little dress was so sweet. I tried to keep as much of it intact as possible. I am sure he will like it and his wife is very excited.

I just created this instrument case for this customer last week. I had never made anything like this nor had I ever seen an instrument like this before either. I used prequilted paisley fabric in a rich maroon to match the history of the instrument. I believe he told me this one was made in Austria. This man plays at dances, concerts and anywhere he is able to. I also believe he flies out to visit his daughter and they both play and have a lot of fun. He calls it a "hurdy gurdy". It sounds very pretty and I can tell you he knows his music. Thanks, Theo for letting me make this case for you!!

Dress A Girl "Hope 4 Kids" International

Today I was in the book store with a friend reading a quilting magazine and there was an article in there just for me. Oh you know one of those times when you realize that you must get involved because what you were reading was meant for you! I have had 5 pillowcase dresses in my Etsy shop for months and NO SALES, for a reason I guess. I took them out of my shop and will be sending them to Phoenix, Arizona to the Dress A Girl "Hope 4 Kids International" organization. They have been doing these wonderful things since 1973 and have taught many of the women to make pillowcase dresses. I am feeling so good about this knowing that my little dresses will be loved by little girls that have NOTHING! Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to care and serve!

Today is Monday April 11 and I sent these little dresses to the Hope 4 Kids International organization. I felt really grateful to be doing that for them! I am planning on making some shorts for Dress A Boy.

Wonderful Nephew!!

I have the most wonderful nephew that any Auntie could have. He lives in California and sent me this card with, as you can see, $40.00 cash in it for me. The story goes this way; My sister who lives here in Texas, block away from me, flew to Indiana to visit her daughter and other son. I cared for her cats and house while she was gone for 3 weeks. Several days into her visit in Indiana the front door opens and there stands her son from California. Surprise! Surprise! and they all had a wonderful loving reunion. My nephew sent me this money as a loving gesture since I was caring for her little cat family here in Texas. Don't you all wish you had such a loving nephew like I have?

I just finished this lovely T-Shirt Quilt for a customer in New Jersey. She is a long time fan of the music star Stevie Nicks from the 80's and 90's. I made a collage block from pictures and a momento from one of the shirts along with a little crescent moon the customer wanted on the quilt. I think this quilt turned out really pretty and I hope she likes it.

I make so many custom orders and for sale projects that I get lonesome to make one for myself. Last week I vowed to make one for me on National Quilting Day and this is what I came up with! I used a charm pack from RJR fabrics called Sumptuous Living by Robyn Pandolph. I have had this pack for a few years. Yes I mean years so here it is, Pretty right? I quilted it in a pink cotton thread. I used my Accuquilt Go for the butterflies and then I embellished them with some little vintage buttons I had. The butterflies add to the charm of the fabrics. I am a very lucky gal!! My outside electric breaker went out and I started blowing fuses. I called the manager of our mobile home park and they had to replace it. Now what is a busy gal going to do when you just can't sew and it is National Quilting Month and National Quilting Day tomorrow. Sooooooooo I went outside and started in my yard. Now of course it really is so beautiful. LOL I planted these flowers(bottom picture) my sister gave me for my birthday. The top picture is a pot of cactus from my daughter. Can you see the star cut in the cactus leaf? I love things like that. Yippee the A/C is on so will get busy and sew, quilt, sew, quilt!!!

Just wanted to post this little quilt in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I have not had a place to hang small quilts so today I put up a little rod for them. These are my tools and I can almost do anything with them. My saw is in the shed out side. I didn't need it today. Ladies if you have a man in your family that complains that he has no tools or is not handy with tools just call on me and I'll come-a-runnin and we will get the job done. Now the pliers are new, the hammer was my fathers and the screw drivers are what my husband allowed me to use of his. Great aren't they? LOL I get the jobs done anyway. When we women decide we are going to get something done WE DO!!

Cute Girly Quilt Goes to California

I love what the pink does to this t-shirt quilt. My customer wanted pink and green sashings so that is what she got. These are so much fun to make and put together for people. I did not use corner blocks on this one because the t-shirts were different sizes. By using 16 shirts, actually more than that as I combined a couple of the shirts, it made the quilt square. She wanted a throw size and I think it turned out very pretty.

Heavy Metal Rock Band T-Shirt Quilt

Just finished this quilt for a lucky guy from his wife for Valentine's Day. These T-shirts were so nice and well kept. Some of them looked like black velvet. The sashings are a lime green but my pictures on this one are not true as some of the others. The quilt turned out very nice and I am sure he will love it. I used an 18 inch ruler for the blocks as the pictures were very large and I did not want to compromise the shirts in any way.

Now I think that is the perfect little family. I have given this precious grand daughter a couple of quilts through the years and she takes such good care of them. This man's wife had this made for him as a Valentine surprise. Men really dig their collection of t-shirts especially if they are into sports or some kind of hobby. They collect them, wear them, save them and prize them. I have found that they really like these quilts made from their tees also. Marathon Runner's Quilt

This man is a marathon runner or least he use to be. I really don't know if he still runs now or not. He had his precious t-shirt collection in the garage and his wife told him he had to get them out of there so here they are. I recycled them into a wonderful "One of a Kind" Treasure for him to enjoy for a very long time. That is better than keeping them in a box where you can't enjoy them. I also made him a pillow out of the extra shirt. I hope he likes it. I had fun making it for him. He did tell me his grandmother was a quilter.

Just a few more of my quilts from my past that I enjoyed making. These are all Christmas Quilts and I use them every year. I do have some more but will not be using them this year so will just show you all these for now. The snowmen quilt is one that my sister and I taught in a class and I won't reveal how long ago that has been. I still like them though. The little snowman with the cat looking out of the window is one that I created a couple of years ago with my embroidery machine. I picked some fabric for the background that looks like the winter wind is blowing. The Gift of the Wise men is a paper pieced quilt that I made for fun and I really don't like to paper piece. It did turn out to be one of my favorites. The little redwork Santa I made on the airplane when my husband and I flew to Hawaii in 1999 and that was something to do on a long trip. The one at the bottom is a quilt bee project. We all exchanged blocks and I guess I am about the only one that finished the quilt. I really do like it and use it every year. I could dig out some more but won't do that this year. It will soon be next year, right? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Perfect Gift For Christmas

This is the last quilt for the year and it is very nice. I did take off some of the logos from the backs of the shirts and make a unique block for this quilt. Some of these logos were so unusual that I did not want to throw them away. I have this posted in my Etsy shop for future customers to view. I would believe that this young man was an Eagle Scout and his mother is giving this to him for Christmas.

This is one of the t-shirt quilts that I have created for a customer recently. He wanted me to use a light gray fabric for the sashings. I just had to add some color so I put a narrow border of orange around the edge. I think it brings out the orange in some of the shirts.

My Quilt History

This is a wonderful sampler quilt made from lovely vintage fabrics. My sister and I created this design and made quilt kits for some classes that we were teaching several years ago. I love the simple color combination. They really show up against the cream color muslin. This is one of my favorite quilts. I have kept this one for myself out of the dozens that I have made.

Now what quilter could not have a Sunbonnet Sue and Sam in their quilt history. I designed and made this for my yougest daughter and since she still lives with me I get to contnue to enjoy the quilt also. This is a quilt calendar and each month is embellished and quilted with the season and month in mind. you can't see all of this in the picture but trust me it is a cutie. The scrappy piano border just adds the pizazz the quilt needs to make a statement.

Now you know that we can't have Halloween with
gookish cats, freaky pumpkins and intimidated mice.
I just made this darling little quilt this season and I have it listed in my Etsy shop in hopes someone cannot live without it. Oh

well I will keep it for myself it no one wants it. Ha

Now here is a real beauty. I took my husband to Hawaii for his 70th birthday in 1999. Of course we fell in love with that tropical paradise. When we came home I created and made this quilt from all the inspirational sites we saw that included flowers. My husband gave up one day while we were there and took me to a quilt shop. Boy did I shop!! My husband has now passed away but I have so many memories including this quilt.

Now apples is my family's favorite fruit so this was created to honor all the apple eaters in the family and there are many. My husband was one of them. Don't you love the shading of the apple. It was so fun to make. The border fabric is apple potpourie. I won a ribbon on this quilt. I have won several ribbons on different quilts that I have made through the years.

Now we can't have fall without the scarecrow and he is a cute one. I had such fun making him. I have enjoy this time of year when I can hang him. I quilted a cobweb in the upper lefthand corner and sewed on a little spider and that just makes this quilt come to life. What can I say but I just love him.

I have been passionate about quilting for over 20 years now and will always be in love with the art. I pray that God will give me a few more years so I can finish all of my UFO's and even more. Recently I won an Accuquilt Go Cutter which makes all the cutting faster and with more accuracy so look out fabric here I come!!

Adorable Baby Raggy Quilt

For such a sweet baby girl that is so loved we have a beautiful raggy quilt 39" X 45". Just perfect for her crib!! I have chosen apple green print with circles of lavender, white and pale aqua, lavender check, and a darker lavender splash. I used white flannel in the center of the squares for the warmth. I sewed the X down the middle to give each block stability. All in all a perfect addition to her nursery!!

Kitchen Quilt Ansemble

I just listed a kitchen quilt and matching hot pad holders and tea towel. These are made from some vintage fabric with country blue checks and black and white chickens. I also used a fabric that looks like chicken wire for the odd blocks. This is a really cute ansemble. I place dark country blue prairie points all around the edge. Crown Royal Quillow

This is a custom order quillow. This customer was getting it made for a friend and wanted the Crown Royal Bourbon bags put on this quillow. One picture shows the quillow from the front with the bags and the other picture shows how the back and what the entire quillow looked like. The fabrics that we chose was very complimentary to the Crown Royal bags. All in all it turned out very pretty.

My Quiet Place

This is a little place in my living room that I really love!! I enjoy rocking in the rocker and reminiscing. After all when you get my age you have more past than future. This quilt is one of many that I have made just for this space. The quilt rack is a gift from my husband many years ago. I have two places in my house where I hang quilts and I change them out periodically. Seasonal quilts are my favorites and I love to create them. This is one of my favorites and was really fun to make. It was suppose to be 12 blocks but I only made 9 so it would fit the space. I believe the fabrics are Thimbleberries. Actually I made the vest on the wall. That brought me a quilt show ribbon. I made the silky throw on the rocker and the pillow, so much fun!!

Well somedays you just can't get anything done no matter how hard you try, right? I am trying to make myself a fall raggedy recycled jean tote with a machine applique scarecrow on it. Now I have made that little scarecrow before but today he refused to come into being for some reason. After 2 starts and 2 messes I just put him aside for another day. I can just see me with a fall scarecrow tote at Christmas time. Well I always have walked to the tune of a different drummer.LOL. Now that little guy better cooperate tomorrow. This is a pic of him on a porch wall hanging. He is made in 3 sections and that is somewhat tricky to do. I have a janome 350E embroidery machine and I really like it for being so user friendly. "Ocean is the name of my quilt. Our "Tied together Bee" made quilt blocks for each member for their birthday in 2001. I picked the colors of the ocean. I love water; ocean,rivers,lakes,ponds, fountains~~~~
