More of My Personal Quilt History

Just a few more of my quilts from my past that I enjoyed making. These are all Christmas Quilts and I use them every year. I do have some more but will not be using them this year so will just show you all these for now. The snowmen quilt is one that my sister and I taught in a class and I won't reveal how long ago that has been. I still like them though. The little snowman with the cat looking out of the window is one that I created a couple of years ago with my embroidery machine. I picked some fabric for the background that looks like the winter wind is blowing. The Gift of the Wise men is a paper pieced quilt that I made for fun and I really don't like to paper piece. It did turn out to be one of my favorites. The little redwork Santa I made on the airplane when my husband and I flew to Hawaii in 1999 and that was something to do on a  long trip. The one at the bottom is a quilt bee project. We all exchanged blocks and I guess I am about the only one that finished  the quilt. I really do like it and use it every year. I could dig out some more but won't do that this year. It will soon be next year, right?  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Perfect Gift For Christmas

This is the last quilt for the year and it is very nice. I did take off some of the logos from the backs of the shirts and make a unique block for this quilt. Some of these logos were so unusual that I did not want to throw them away. I have this posted in my Etsy shop for future customers to view. I would believe that this young man was an Eagle Scout and his mother is giving this to him for Christmas.

Another Beautiful T-Shirt Quilt

The owner of this lovely quilt will be so happy I am sure. Her mother is having this quilt made for her graduation. It is to be a surprise. I have it on the quilting machine as we speak and it should be done tomorrow. Now why not order one of these wonderful quilts and preserve all of your memories.

When my sisters and I were very young all three of us loved to make things. I think that was the way kids entertained themselves in those days. Our mother sat us down with old clothes and needles and thread and we made our dolls clothes.
My creativity grew from there and I found myself in high school making all of my own clothes. I did get a lot of attention with my matching outfits including hats. Since I was shy maybe that was my way of creating my own world and at the same time getting attention.
I finally did get tired of making clothes and went into quilting. The first year I quilted I made every family member quilts, quilts and more quilts.
You can only make so many quilts and so many bags before you have no space left. What is a very nutty creative person going to do about this?? Well you are going to open an ETSY shop and sell some of this stuff, right?? http://fabricartist21.etsy.com/
My neighbor asked me to make her a T-Shirt Quilt and I have been doing that for over a year now. I take special orders through my Etsy shop. I have become very busy with this business and will continue to create t-shirt quilts as long as their are customers that want them.
