God... Love...Family... Friends...Pets...Fun...Creativity
I have always been a peace loving, shy, and sometimes withdrawn person. As a young child I spent a great deal of time with paper, pencils, crayons and books. As we ( 2 sisters + me) grew up in the family my mother would give us old clothes , some were made from very fancy fabrics, that people had given her. I remember sitting on the bed in my room and making costumes, doll clothes, and whatever out of a purple taffeta formal. I would sew for hours with a needle and thread. Years later my mother purchased a sewing machine and she would buy stacks of fabric and turn us loose and all three of us taught ourselves how to sew.
My creativity grew from there and I found myself in high school making all of my own clothes. I did get a lot of attention with my matching outfits including hats. Since I was shy maybe that was my way of creating my own world and at the same time getting attention.
When my sister and I go to Red Hat I love to dress in the rediculous and extreme. She says that is to get attention and gives me a hard time.LOL
Now this same sister came from California in 1997,at my insistence, to live here so we could be together in our later years. We live about a football field away from each other and talk and see each other every day. She brought her quilting skills with her when she came. She taught me how to quilt and that has been my passion ever since. I have an album full of pictures of all my quilts I made for the first 2 years. I was a quilting maniac and made over 100 quilts the first 2 years.
I have this blog for these purposes as told in the above title. I really do have my priorities more in order now. I am not very computer savy and this sister of mine has also taught me how to navigate this crazy technical machine. I hope you all will enjoy my blog as I learn.
You can only make so many quilts and so many bags before you have no space left. What is a very nutty creative person going to do about this?? Well you are going to open an ETSY store and sell some of this stuff, right??
